Panel showing the geographical history of Cork harbour
My brief here was to illustrate three panels each depicting a different aspect of the the history of Cork harbour. Through consultation with the client is was agreed that the human history would be best conveyed with cartoons. This approach was not what they initially intended but when they saw my portfolio they realised cartoons would make the serious historical material more accessible, especially to children. The geological and natural history panels would feature serious scientific illustrations . During the project I had frequent consultations with various experts and academics who assisted me in ensuring the material I produced was accurate.
